What Is Included in a Regular House Cleaning?
The room by room breakdown of what a regular house cleaning includes (and does not include) when you book a cleaning service in Charlotte.
When you book a regular cleaning, what are you actually getting? The answer should not be a mystery, but cleaning service descriptions are often vague enough to leave room for surprise. Here is the room by room scope of what a regular cleaning includes at MaidCalm and across most reputable Charlotte cleaning services.
A regular cleaning is maintenance. The home is in reasonable shape and the goal is to keep it that way. It is not a reset, not a turnover, and not a deep clean. For comparison, see Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning.

What is not included in a regular cleaning
The detail and specialty work below is part of a deep clean, a move out clean, or a paid add on. It is not part of a regular maintenance visit:
- Inside the oven, fridge, dishwasher, or microwave
- Inside cabinets or drawers
- Baseboard scrubbing (we dust and spot wipe; full wipedown is a deep clean item)
- Window blinds slat by slat (we dust the visible top edge)
- Inside windows
- Window track vacuuming
- Tile grout treatment for mildew
- Wall washing
- Laundry
- Dishwashing beyond what is in the sink at the time of cleaning
- Ceiling fan blade detail (we dust visible top sides)
- Light fixture detail with bulb removal
- Outside the home (patio, porch, garage)
If you want any of these on your visit, add them at booking. Most are documented as add ons with a flat fee.
